On Wednesday 16 March 2016, in celebration of National Apprenticeship Week, Ferrovial Agroman and other founding members of the Heathrow Sustainability Partnership announced their pledges to support the Heathrow Academy.
The occasion was marked by an event held at the Academy and was opened by Heathrow Airport Ltd CEO, John Holland-Kaye who said,
"As one of the largest single-site employers in the UK, we have an important role to play in generating local economic growth by creating jobs and training people to do them." "We continue to work towards our goal for Heathrow to be recognised as a career destination where people can realise their potential and fulfil their ambitions."
Ferrovial Agroman, World Duty Free Group and Balfour Beatty from the Heathrow Sustainability Partnership were among the companies working at Heathrow to make a pledge, contributing to a total of 400 new recruits and apprentices through the Academy.

Heathrow Academy has placed over 1,500 people into apprenticeships since it opened in 2004. In the last 11 years it has grown to provide recruitment and training services as well as apprenticeships.
The Heathrow Sustainability Partnership is a group of companies representing all sectors at the airport. Led by a Board formed by the Chief Executives of 16 companies operating at Heathrow, the Partnership works in collaboration to achieve long term improvements in Heathrow’s sustainability performance.
Ferrovial Agroman is one of the Delivery Integrators (principle contractors) for the Heathrow Airport Q6 Project. Their pledge forms part of their wider programme of community engagement activities in the Heathrow area, including volunteering, schools workshops and fundraising.
