Ferrovial receives the CLARES Award for Social Responsibility in the "International Development Cooperation” category

The Mexican President, Felipe Calderon, recently presented the Social Responsibility and Latin American Centre for Social Responsibility (CLARES) Awards for Social Responsibility 2012 as part of the 5th International Social Responsibility Conference at Anahuac University in North Mexico. 

The ceremony was chaired by Felipe Calderon who was accompanied, among others, by Jesus Quirce, Rector of Anahuac University, and Roberto Delgado Gallant, Director of the Faculty of Social Responsibility and CLARES. Calderon stressed the importance of Social Responsibility and Sustainability for the country's development.

Ferrovial's work in the field of Development Cooperation was recognised and awarded in the "International Development Cooperation" category. Other companies honoured at the event were Kellogg Foundation, which received the award in the "Social Foundation" category, the Santander Financial Group was awarded in the “Business - University Alliance" category; Expok News was recognised and received the award in the "Private Enterprise (SME)" category and Coca Cola Mexico was also recognised in the "Private Enterprise” category.

During the talks that took place during the Conference, Gonzalo Sales participated in the lecture "Strategic alliances for International Development Cooperation». "Ferrovial's cooperation model is aligned with the company's business model. We are an active partner" Sales said during his speech, which stressed the need to strengthen alliances between governments with the third sector, companies and universities, the new model of alliances in the field of International Development Cooperation. "In the present context arising from the economic crisis, it is necessary to standardise collaborations, get close to real situations and provide funds and skills”.
