Category: General / 09 May 2012

As part of the award ceremony of the Eighth "Madrid Flexible Company" Award, the president of the Community of Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre awarded Ferrovial the Most Equal Company Award at a ceremony held at Ferrovial headquarters.

This is the first time that the Community of Madrid has awarded this recognition to a company for developing and implementing initiatives on equal opportunities, in particular, Ferrovial's IGUALA + Plan.

The award was collected by Rafael del Pino, chairman of Ferrovial, who accompanied the president of the Community of Madrid when visiting the part of the company's facilities under construction. Rafael del Pino noted that "Ferrovial has been developing and promoting measures for years to ensure equal treatment and opportunities between men and women, measures to promote quality of life for all of our company's employees, although we know that there is still much to do. We do not understand excellence without talent, and talent knows no gender, so we do everything in our power to encourage and promote it”. Esperanza Aguirre noted that "in the Community of Madrid we are convinced that equality between men and women is essential to build a more just society from a social point of view and it is more efficient and productive from a business point of view". "This award recognizes the work of companies to acheive that the best talent, male or female, has every opportunity to develop their career," concluded Aguirre.

This new award aims to encourage the commitment of the Comunidad de Madrid's Government to equal opportunities as a necessary element to build a more just, balanced and healthy society and a more productive, profitable and competitive business network.
